Rocky's birth escalated quickly.
I had inconsistent, manageable contractions - some 9 minutes apart, others over 20 minutes apart. Suddenly, overwhelming contractions were back to back and my body was pushing her out.
Rocky made a very speedy entry into her father's hands, beating the midwives to the party. 4kg of perfection and an overwhelming feeling of calm and love ensued, with a hint of shock from how quickly things progressed.
I'm grateful for the beautiful video and pictures Alex has created, and for her grounding, unassuming presence, especially given she was the only other person at our accidental unassisted homebirth.
