I met Kira when I was 18, I walked into the YHA in Earls Court, London, a lonely teenager and she was there, all cool in her skater gear. It was 2002, she was also 18. I found out I got a job at the end of that week and we shared a bottle of vodka, I paid for my half with the last of my savings. We both got pub jobs and hung out intermittently. We traveled the world, separately, for 6 & 8 years each, traveling to 50 & 36 countries each and would meet up at different times throughout. I met my future husband in the same place as her, a day later. She grew up down the road from him, back in Australia, so we met again, back home. She visited us in Melbourne and came to our wedding there. We moved to Byron and she bought a house on the sunshine coast and holidays down our way annually. Now she's married and is having a baby of her own! Kira is part of my life story and I'm so glad to capture these moments her.
